Gators Travel to Lexington for Sunday Game at Kentucky

Florida plays its 19th road game of the season and three of the Gators' four SEC wins have been on the road.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida plays its 19th road game of the season, this time traveling to Lexington to play Kentucky on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at Memorial Coliseum.
 
The game will be televised by SEC Network with Courtney Lyle and Tamika Catchings calling the action.
 
Florida vs. Kentucky: The Series
  • 53-Game Series: UF trails 25-28 (UF Home: 13-9; Away: 9-14; Neutral: 3-5)
  • Last Meeting: The Wildcats blitzed Florida, 92-68, in the quarterfinals of the 2016 SEC Tournament. The Gators won the regular-season match-up, 85-79 to halt a two-game skid to Kentucky.
  • Trend: Ten of the last 11 games have been decided by 10 points or less
 
What Just Happened
  • On Thursday, Florida lost to Missouri, 74-67, and snapped its two-game win streak.
  • Kentucky won a 69-62 decision on the road at Arkansas to collected its third consecutive victory.

  • It's hard to believe, but Florida has just THREE regular-season games remaining before the SEC Tournament.
  • Including Sunday's game against the Wildcats, Florida's remaining schedule includes one home game (Georgia) and two on the road (Kentucky and Tennessee).
  • The Gators are 2-3 in the second half of the league schedule entering Sunday's game against Kentucky.
  • Florida wrapped up the first half of its 16-game SEC slate with a road win at Vanderbilt (Jan. 29) and a 2-6 record.

  • Ronni Williams - the lone four-year senior on the roster - led UF in scoring as a sophomore and junior and is doing so again this season.
  • In addition to leading the Gators in scoring with 18.8 points per game (19.7 ppg in SEC games), Williams also leads the squad in rebounding (7.9 pg) and free throw percentage (73.6%) and is second for assists (61) and field goal percentage (54.4%).
  • With her 43-point, 14-rebound effort against Vanderbilt (Jan. 29), she became the first SEC player to drop 40 and 10 since in a game since the 2003 season!
  • Williams became the 24th Gator to score 1,000 career points, doing so on Dec. 3 vs. Long Beach State.
  • She became the 15th Gator to collect 700 career rebounds, eclipsing the mark on January 5 at LSU.

  • Over the last TWO games, Ronni Williams is averaging 18.0 points and 9.0 rebounds.
  • In the last FOUR games, freshman Delicia Washington is averaging 14.0 points, connecting on 4-of-5 three-pointers for 80.0 percent.
 
Kentucky Team Ties
  • Kentucky head coach Matthew Mitchell was an assistant coach at Florida for three years (2000-03), serving under former head coaches Carol Ross and Carolyn Peck. The Gators were 51-36 during his three-year stay in Gainesville, where he met his future wife Jenna.
 
Notes from Florida's Last Game: lost at home to Missouri, 74-67 (Feb. 16)
  • Missouri knocked down 13 three-pointers and converted 19-of-20 free throw
  • The second and fourth quarters belonged to the Tigers, who outscored the Gators during those two periods by 22 points thanks to a combined 9-of-15 effort from beyond the arc and a 10-of-11 performance at the free throw line.
  • Florida did hit 28 field goals to Missouri's 21 during the game, but it was the Tiger's shooting prowess that ultimately was the difference.
  • Mizzou's 13 three-pointers are the most by a UF opponent this season; the 13 treys are tied for the second-most allowed in program history, with three other schools converting 14
  • This was the sixth time this year the Gators have allowed double-digit three-pointers
