Gators Face #19 Georgia in Athens Sunday (Noon)

The No. 19-ranked Lady Bulldogs are the Gators' 10th ranked opponent this season.
ATHENS, Ga. – Florida travels to Athens and plays No. 19 Georgia in the regular season finale for both teams. Tip-off from Stegeman Coliseum is scheduled for 12 noon.

This is the 72nd meeting between the two teams - the second-longest in UF history trailing only the 75 games played against instate rival Florida State.

Hi Mom!
  • Florida has at least 12 games set to be televised this season including Sunday's game.
  • SEC Network will broadcast the game live with Courtney Lyle and Tamika Catchings calling the action.
  • Fans also can tune in online thru the WatchESPN app.

Twice the SEC Fun
  • During the 2017-18 season's 16-game SEC schedule, the Gators will play Georgia (their 'permanent' rival), Ole Miss and 2017 NCAA national-runner-up Mississippi State twice.

What's Next for the Gators
  • The Gators will travel directly from Athens to Nashville, site of the 2018 SEC Tournament where UF will play its first round game on Wednesday at Bridgestone Arena.

UF's SEC Tournament Seed
  • Florida will be either the No. 11 or No. 12 seed at the 14-team, five-day event.
  • Entering the final day of the regular season, the Gators are tied with Arkansas and own the head-to-head tiebreak against the Razorbacks.
  • Arkansas is at Vanderbilt on Sunday.
  • If UF has the same result against Georgia that Arkansas has against Vanderbilt, the Gators will be the 11 seed and play Ole Miss (which has locked up 14 seed) at approximately 2:25 p.m. ET/1:25 p.m. CT.
  • If Arkansas beats Vanderbilt and Florida loses to Georgia, the Gators are the 12 seed and will play 13-seed Vanderbilt at 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT.

  • Streak: Georgia took the 66-57 decision in Gainesville on January 28 that halted Florida's two-game win streak against the 'Dawgs.
  • Georgia has won four of last six and eight of the last 11 meetings against Florida.
  • Long Streak: The 71-game series with Georgia is the second-most against any of Florida's opponents.

Cam's Connections: Florida-Georgia
  • Gator Coach Cameron Newbauer worked with both the Georgia men's and women's basketball teams early in his career.
  • He began as a graduate manager with the men's team (2003-04) and later served as the program's director of basketball operations (2005-07).
  • Hall of Fame Coach Andy Landers welcomed Newbauer onto his women's staff as an assistant coach from 2007-12.
  • Newbauer married the former Sarah Millender in May of 2011 on the University of Georgia's Herty Field.

That's a Lot!
  • With Florida's final regular-season opponent - No. 19 Georgia - ranked in the current top-25, the Gators will enter the SEC Tournament having played 10 games against ranked opponents, which will be the third-most number of games against ranked teams in program history to this point of the season.
  • The 1996-97 team played 11 games versus ranked foes before the SEC Tournament, ending the year with 16 dates against ranked foes.
  • The 1999-2000 Gator squad played 10 games against ranked teams before the start of the league tournament and finished with 11 games total.

Ranked Run of Six
  • During a six-game stretch late in the season, Florida played six consecutive games against ranked opponents and the Gators were impressive during the run despite not landing a win.
  • FOUR of the games were on the road.
  • FOUR of the games were decided by single digits.
  • The Gators led Georgia and South Carolina by 10 points, Texas A&M by six and Missouri by five points but just weren't quite able to finish the job.
  • UF played Mississippi State twice during the run and the Bulldogs were the only team the Gators couldn't quite reel in.

Gators for THREEEEEE!
  • Entering Sunday's game, the Gators are averaging 8.5 three-pointers per game and converting at a 31.7 percent clip.

26 Games for the Record!

  • Florida DOES NOT FOUL: The Gators rank No. 5 in the country in staying out of foul trouble, being whistled for just 12.5 fouls per game. It wasn't until Florida's 16th game of the season that a Gator (Delicia Washington) fouled out - and that didn't happen until there was 2:45 remaining in the second-overtime period at Ole Miss!
  • REBOUND: Florida has lost the rebounding battle just six times in 15 SEC games. The Gators rank No. 3 in SEC Games for rebounding offense and No. 4 for defensive rebounds.
  • Individually, Haley Lorenzen (No. 9), Delicia Washington (No. 7) and Paulina Hersler (No. 12) each rank among the SEC's top-15 for rebounds per game.
