Gators, Bearcats Set to Face Off for AAC Regular Season Crown

Florida welcomes Cincinnati to Donald R. Dizney Stadium in a battle of the unbeaten in conference.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The American Athletic Conference will crown its regular season champion on Saturday as No. 18 Florida (10-6, 4-0 AAC) welcomes Cincinnati (11-5, 4-0 AAC) to Donald R. Dizney Stadium.

Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. and the game will be streamed on YouTube with Ryan Urquhart and Annabeth Collins on the call.

Saturday's game will serve as Senior Day for Florida's 11 seniors: Paige Aldave, Jillian Alonso, Caroline Benitez, Annie Collins, Kendra Cronin, Madi Hall, Haley Hicklen, Alix Lopez, Caroline May, Sydney Pirreca and Lindsey Ronbeck.

Florida is looking to clinch its ninth conference championship in 10 season – the Gators have claimed the last eight regular season conference championships (ALC – 2011-14; BIG EAST 2015-18).

Saturday's matchup will also determine the seeding for the AAC Tournament from May 2-4. The winner will grab the No. 1 seed, while the loser will sit at No. 2. The Vanderbilt-Temple game will determine seedings three and four.

The Gators sit at No. 12 in the latest RPI rankings. Maryland is first, followed by Boston College, North Carolina, Virginia, Syracuse, Northwestern, Princeton, Michigan, Southern California, Notre Dame and Loyola. Florida has faced eight teams in the Top-25.  

Scouting the Bearcats
Cincinnati currently sits at an 11-5 record overall and a 4-0 record in AAC play. The Bearcats are 0-2 against ranked opponents, falling to then-No. 23 Virginia Tech 19-8 and then-No. 20 Michigan 19-9.

This is the fifth meeting between the two squads, with Florida holding the 4-0 advantage.

Cincinnati is led on the offensive front by Monica Borzillo, who has racked up 99 points this season on 56 goals and 43 assists. Kylie Nause and Alyssa Adams have pitched in 35 and 30 goals, respectively. Sam Mlkvy has controlled the draw circle this season, coming up with 84 wins. Alyssa Adams has also pitched in 58 draws of her own. Giuliana Durso has played the majority of minutes in the cage for the Bearcats, recording 120 saves and a .420 save percentage.
