Florida in 2020-21:
The 2020 fall schedule consisted of play only versus Southeastern Conference programs. Each SEC team played eight regular-season matches and the SEC regular-season champion (Arkansas) was based on results from those eight matches. Florida advanced to the 2020 SEC Tournament second round, defeating Kentucky 6-5 OT and falling 2-1 to Missouri. Florida faces two SEC teams in 2021 spring neutral site action – LSU and Georgia – but neither result counts toward league standings.

Gators in 2021 consists of 33 players, including 10 freshmen and two transfers. One freshman joined the team for the spring 2021 – Beata Olsson of Enkoping, Sweden. The forward owns 39 caps with the Swedish Youth National Teams, scoring 10 goals in U-17 and nine in U-19 play.  Florida returns nine starters from the 2019 team that made the program's 22nd NCAA appearance in 2019. The Gators top points scorer (three goals, three assists, nine points) from fall 2020 is senior Parker Roberts. She collected her third All-SEC honor in fall of 2020. Junior Cassidy Lindley also scored three goals last fall.

Florida will be without senior forward Deanne Rose, who is with Canada's Senior National Team for the SheBelieves Cup. The event runs from Feb. 18-24 at the Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Fla. Rose is the only NCAA Division I player who played in both the 2016 Olympics and 2019 World Cup. She is part of Canada's Senior National Team.

About College of Charleston:
This meeting came about after an unexpected open weekend for both teams. College of Charleston was to open its season Saturday with a home match versus Coastal Carolina but that was rescheduled for Thursday, March 4. With both Florida and Charleston with open weekends, the two teams agreed to meet for the first time this Saturday.

Charleston did not play in fall 2020. In 2019, Charleston posted an 8-10 record and finished eighth in Colonial Athletic Association regular-season standings with a 2-7 record.  Junior Hannah Farmer and sophomore Olivia Freitas led the Cougars in 2019 with the same stat line of three goals, two assists for eight points. Christian Michner begins his 11th season at College of Charleston this spring.
